The Old Man” Season 2
Centering on a rogue ex-CIA agent, Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges), hiding from his superiors and living off the grid, he is suddenly discovered and goes on the run, being chased by his former colleague, Harold Harper (John Lithgow), now an FBI director. But those who watched season two know Chase’s CIA-mole daughter (Alia Shawkat) was kidnapped by rivals, and feeling like a surrogate father for much of his life, Harper also goes rogue, teaming up with Chase to save her. Gbenga Akinnagbe and Amy Brenneman also co-star, and Jon Watts (“Wolfs”) remains an exec producer).
Premiere Date: September 12 on FX and Hulu.

Three Women
Originally a Showtime series, which was eventually dropped and moved to Starz in the Paramount/Showtime shakeup, “Three Women” centers on a group of women who are on a course to radically change their lives. Based on the book by Lisa Taddeo, the series stars Shailene Woodley, DeWanda Wise, Betty Gilpin, Gabrielle Creevy, and Blair Underwood, among many others.
Premiere Date: September 13 on Starz.

Tulsa King
Created by Taylor Sheridan, the prolific ruler of the “Yellowstone” dynasty, Sylvester Stallone returns for a second season of his crime dramedy about a New York Mafia capo who returns from prison only to be exiled to Oklahoma in a fish-out-of-water story. Most of the same players, Martin Starr, Andrea Savage, Jay Will, Max Casella, and Annabella Sciorra, are returning for season two. Showrunner Terence Winter (“Sopranos,” “Boardwalk Empire”), who was initially let go by Sheridan but evidently reversed that decision, returns as head writer.
Premiere Date: September 15 on Paramount+.

Agatha All Along
A spin-off show from Marvel Television’sWandaVision,” from the same writer/creator, Jac Schaeffer, centering on the villainous witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), ‘Agatha’ picks up where that series left off—Agatha was stripped of her powers by the Scarlet Witch. But with the help of a mysterious goth teen (Joe Locke from “Heartstoppper”), Agatha recruits a Coven of Witches to journey to face the trials of the legendary Witches’ Road and regain her abilities. Aubrey Plaza, Patti Lupone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp co-star as the Coven members, but the villain of it all is still a mystery.
Premiere Date: September 18 on Disney+.

Heartstopper” Season 3 
A queer, coming-of-age romantic comedy and teen drama created by created by Alice Oseman, “Hearstopper” has been praised for its empathetic and authentic portrayal of the LGBTQ community. The series tells the story of Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), a gay schoolboy who falls in love with classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor). New cast members joining season three include Hayley Atwell, Eddie Marsan, and “Bridgerton” star Jonathan Bailey.

October 3 on Netflix.

Abbott Elementary” Season 4
The acclaimed and Emmy-winning high school mockumentary and sitcom “Abbott Elementary” returns this fall. Quinta Brunson created the show, which stars her as a perpetually optimistic second-grade teacher at an underfunded, predominantly black high school in Philadelphia. So far, the show has earned 24 Emmy nominations. The ensemble cast features Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
Premiere Date: October 9 on ABC.

La Máquina
Diego Luna, Gael Garcia Bernal, and Eiza Gonzalez are the hot trio behind the Spanish-language Hulu series “La Máquina” The series follows an aging boxer (García Bernal) whose crafty manager (Luna) secures him one last shot at a title. But they must navigate a mysterious underworld force to make it to fight night.

Citadel: Diana
Based on the 2023 American spy action thriller television series “Citadel,” the Italian chapter and spin-off is ‘Diana’ which expands the “Citadel” universe and global espionage network. Starring Matilda De Angelis (HBO’s “The Undoing”), the series also features Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten and more. Anthony and Joe Russo serve as exec-producers.
Premiere Date: October 10 on Prime Video.

“Disclaimer”
After adding three Oscars to his mantle with “Roma,” five-time Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón returns with a new psychological thriller series. Written and directed by Cuarón in full, Cate Blanchett stars as a famed documentary journalist who discovers she is a prominent character in a novel that reveals a secret she has tried to keep hidden for decades. Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Lesley Manville co-star with Billie Eilish’s brother and co-songwriting partner Finneas writing the score. “Disclaimer” is so coveted it will be one of the rare TV shows to world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.
Premiere Date: October 11 on Apple TV+.

Shrinking” Season 2 
Co-created by Bill Lawrence (a “Ted Lasso” co-creator), along with actor/comedians Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein, Segel stars as a grieving therapist who decides to become drastically more involved in his patients’ lives. Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Lukita Maxwell are also co-stars. Season one featured directors like James Ponsoldt, Ry Russo-Young, and Zach Braff, but it’s unclear if they’ll return for season two.
Premiere Date: October 16 on Apple TV+.

What We Do in the Shadows” Season Six
After five seasons of a terrific spin-off from Taika Waititi’s 2014 film of the same name, his acclaimed and very hysterically funny series “What We Do in the Shadows” comes to an end. By the end of the last season, the vampire “familiar” (read: servant) Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) finally gets his wish granted to become a bloodsucker. However, this angers his Nandor (Kayvan Novak), his enslaver, who intends to kill him. Season six must reconcile the vampiric inner turmoil, and all of the main cast, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Mark Proksch, and Kristen Schaal, return.
