After months of reports and speculation about the involvement of Mole Man in Matt Shakman‘s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” actor Joseph Quinn, appearing alongside fellow cast members at CCXP Mexico, revealed (via Culture Crave) that the Marvel baddie is indeed in the movie.
“Certainly, a very stacked cast we have a lot of fantastic characters in there. There is also Mole Man, who’s wonderful in it, but Galactus is the big bad,” Quinn said during the film’s panel on the Omelete Stage at CCXP Mexico over the weekend.
The British actor stopped short of saying who is in the role of Mole Man, but there had been multiple folks pointing toward actor Paul Walter Hauser playing him.

Mole Man, unlike a lot of the Fantastic Four villains, isn’t from outer space or another dimension like the Negative Zone; he’s an Earthbound character named Harvey Rupert Elder (debuting in the first issue of the comic book in 1961). A version of Harvey was previously played by Tim Blake Nelson, who recently reprised gamma-powered villain The Leader in “Captain America: Brave New World,” in the Josh Trank-directed film released back in 2015.
Of course, “Fantastic Four” is expected to be one of the bigger summer movies coming out on July 25 as it will be rubbing elbows with James Gunn‘s “Superman” and Gareth Edwards‘ “Jurassic World Rebirth.” However, there is likely plenty of room for all these movies to do well at the box office.
We already know that the events of The Multiverse Saga reboot are expected to lead directly into “Avengers: Doomsday,” as Quinn, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach have been officially announced as part of the cast of the big event pic. The rest of the supporting cast features Julia Garner as Silver Surfer (Shalla-Bal), Ralph Ineson as Galactus, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, Mark Gatiss, Sarah Niles, and Matthew Wood as the superhero team’s lovable robot, Herbie.
You can watch that reveal by Quinn below from footage reposted by the Culture Crave account on social media.
