‘Final Score’ Trailer: Dave Bautista Tries To Save A Soccer Game From Euro Thugs

Do you like movies about sports? Do you enjoy action movies? Are you still feeling the hangover from World Cup fever and wishing it went on forever?

Well, there’s a film coming out combining both things that you might enjoy. The film is the upcoming action thriller “Final Score” starring Dave Bautista. Dave Bautista will go from saving the galaxy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to coming back to Earth to protect spectators at a soccer game.

A group of criminals attempts to take control of a stadium with 35,000 soccer fans. It is up to ex-soldier Michael Knox, played by Bautista, to use his military skills to save them. Adding to the drama is that one of the spectators is Knox’s fallen comrade’s daughter.

From the looks of it, “Final Score” seems like pretty standard action fare. It also looks like it has Dave Bautista doing what he does best: kicking butt and taking names. But it still looks like it’s serving its purpose of being an escapist action film. Nothing more, nothing less.

But even though Dave Bautista has been known for his butt-kicking, he’s never really carried a film before. He’s been a scene-stealer in films like “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” “Spectre,” and “Blade Runner 2049.” Yet, we’ve never seen him carry a movie on his shoulders. Once this film comes out, we’ll have a greater sense of his potential movie star capabilities.

Rounding out the rest of the cast is Ray Stevenson, Ralph Brown, Amit Shah, and interestingly, Pierce Brosnan. Seeing James Bond himself share the screen with Dave Bautista should be pretty fun. The film is also being helmed by Scott Mann who did the 2015 crime thriller “Heist” which Bautista also starred in.

“Final Score” opens on September 14 in the U.S. and U.K. cinemas on September 7
