Carla Gugino is one of the more underrated actresses working in Hollywood today. Despite perhaps not being a household name, Gugino has consistently worked over the last few decades turning in solid performances left and right. And she looks to continue that with her starring role in the upcoming Cinemax original series “Jett.”
As seen in the teaser for “Jett,” Gugino stars as a world-class thief that finds herself in a world filled with some of the worst people you can imagine. The series definitely has a noir vibe to it, and considering it’s on Cinemax, which has made a name for itself as the place to go for quality original action content (thanks to recent series like “Warrior”), there should be plenty of excitement and thrills.
Gugino is probably best known for her roles in films like “Sin City,” “Watchmen,” and the “Spy Kids” franchise. But recently, she’s been on a roll with great performances in Netflix hits like “Gerald’s Game” and last year’s surprising “The Haunting of Hill House.”
Gugino is joined by a cast that includes Giancarlo Esposito, Elena Anaya, Michael Aronov, Gaite Jansen, Chris Backus, Gil Bellows, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gentry White, Violet McGraw, Lucy Walters, and Mustafa Shakir.
“Jett” is set to premiere on Cinemax in June.
