It doesn’t take much to get me excited about a film. I gotta be honest with you about that. Brad Pitt is an actor that makes me instantly interested in a project just by being attached to star. And David Leitch, as a filmmaker, has impressed me with his work on “John Wick” and “Deadpool 2,” as well as “Atomic Blonde” and to a lesser degree, “Hobbs & Shaw.” So, the two of them combining for “Bullet Train” has already sold me. But I tell you what, the rest of this cast they’re assembling is pretty incredible, including the most recent additions.
According to Deadline, Logan Lerman and Michael Shannon are joining a star-studded cast for the upcoming action-thriller, “Bullet Train,” which is expected to begin production fairly soon. As mentioned, Pitt is the star of the film, but he’s already been announced as being joined by Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Zazie Beetz, Brian Tyree Henry, and Andrew Koji. So, this is clearly a great ensemble for a film that will easily be one of my most anticipated of the next couple of years.
“Bullet Train” is written by Zak Olkewicz, based on the upcoming novel, “Maria Beetle,” by bestselling Japanese author Kotaro Isaka. Plot details are pretty well guarded but it’s reported that the film will be about a group of assassins hired for a mission on a train. The exact roles are unknown but Pitt and King have been named as playing assassins. It’s unclear where Lerman and Shannon, as well as the rest of the cast fall into place.

Lerman is probably best known for his work in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” as well as the “Percy Jackson” franchise. Most recently, he’s appeared in a starring role in the series, “Hunters.” Shannon is acting royalty, at this point. He’s appeared in a number of incredible roles, with his most recent high profile picture being the Oscar-nominated film, “Knives Out.”
Again, it’s unclear when “Bullet Train” will arrive in theaters or streaming. With production expected to ramp up soon, hopefully we’ll see the star-studded film sooner rather than later.
