Olivia Cooke & Lakeith Stanfield To Star In A New Live-Action Fairy Tale Film For Disney+ From Director Susan Johnson

Over the last several years, actors Olivia Cooke and Lakeith Stanfield have cemented themselves as talents deserving of your movie and TV-watching time. But we have to admit, this latest news is really putting that love to the test.

According to Deadline, Cooke and Stanfield have agreed to star in the upcoming, untitled fairy tale film being developed for the streaming service Disney+. The details about the film are still being kept a secret, but the fairy tale is written by newcomer Cat Vasko and is set to be directed by Susan Johnson. The director also adds to the temptation to watch a children’s fairy tale due to her recent breakout hit film, “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before…”

Cooke is probably best known for her role in the film “Me, Earl and the Dying Girl.” She also had a starring role in the short-lived AMC series “Bates Motel” and the blockbuster “Ready Player One.” She most recently appeared on the series “Vanity Fair.” Cooke will next be seen in the films “The Sound of Metal,” “Naked Singularity,” and “Little Fish.”

Stanfield has become one of the most sought-after acting talents after his breakout roles in the series “Atlanta” and the indie film “Short Term 12.” Since then, he’s appeared in films like “Get Out,” “Sorry to Bother You” and “The Girl in the Spider’s Web.” He also has a busy slate ahead of him, including films like “Knives Out,” “Uncut Gems,” and “The Photograph.”

As mentioned, this untitled film is being added to the already packed lineup of big projects joining the Disney+ family. Series from Disney-owned studios like Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios are already in the works, as well as a number of live-action and animated films. Disney+ is scheduled to arrive in November and is shaping up to be another must for streaming fans.
