For decades, there have been plenty of famous crime duos on the big screen. Thelma and Louise, Butch and Sundance, Bonnie and Clyde, Mickey and Mallory, and many more have given film fans folks on the wrong side of the law to root for. In “Stray Dolls,” filmmaker Sonejuhi Sinha hopes you root for Riz and Dallas. And frankly, it appears that they need all the help they can get.
With “Stray Dolls” arriving in theaters in April, we’re thrilled to give our readers an exclusive look at the first trailer for the crime drama that finds two would-be criminals fighting for their lives in a dingy motel. The film tells the story of Riz, an immigrant and ex-gang member, who finds herself working and living in a motel with Dallas, a runaway who is in possession of some drugs and intends on making some money. The pair then become the targets of various nefarious bad guys, as they try to escape the motel and the dicey situation they find themselves in.
The film stars Geetanjali Thapa, Olivia DeJonge, Robert Aramayo, and Cynthia Nixon. “Stray Dolls” is directed by Sonejuhi Sinha, who also co-wrote the script with Charlotte Rabate. The crime drama marks the feature directorial debut for Sinha.
“Stray Dolls” arrives in select theaters and VOD on April 10.
