'Undone' Trailer: A Trippy, Time-Bending Addition To Amazon's Content

When the creative minds behind Netflix‘s “BoJack Horseman” whip up a new project, the expectation for nuanced, creative commentary is right there in the fine print. Now, Amazon has fleshed out that very project into the next addition to their series Rolodex.

Undone” was given a straight to series order back in 2018 and is created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy (“BoJack Horseman”). Much like the aforementioned Netflix hit, “Undone” has a distinctive animated look, setting it apart from Bob-Waksberg and Purdy’s previous foray into animated series.

A talented cast including Rosa Salazar (“Alita: Battle Angel“) and Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul“) will lead the series as Alma and Jacob. When the former comes to recognize her powers in manipulating time, she uses her ability to unhinge the truth behind her father’s death. Hisko Hulsing will direct the first batch of episodes which feature astonishing animation.

Given Bob-Waksberg and Purdy’s own history with a series like “BoJack Horseman,” the trailer already strikes the tone that this animation won’t be flippant about the sensitive, difficult subject matter. The Netflix series has always been praised for its writing, and specifically for how the series deals with addiction, mental health, and identity while under the guise of popping animated cartoon. “Undone” is bound to follow suit.
