Warner Bros. Tells Ray Fisher To "Move On" After Actor's Newest Tweets About 'Justice League' Abuse

Last year, when Ray Fisher first announced that he was seeking his own sort of justice after being mistreated during the reshoots of the 2017 film “Justice League,” people were shocked and dismayed. What happened between Fisher and filmmaker Joss Whedon? What did producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns have to do with it? Well, over the past few months, we’ve seen more allegations, an investigation, and finally Warner Bros. promising action being taken. But yet, Fisher’s war against the studio has only escalated to include executives such as DC Films boss Walter Hamada. And now, after new tweets from the actor, the studio is kindly asking Fisher to “move on.”

Though there hasn’t been new information revealed in a while regarding Fisher’s claims, the actor has been steadfast in his insistence that a reckoning was coming. In fact, after Walter Hamada was given a new contract with WB to continue his work on DC superhero films, Fisher not only doubled down on his insistence that he wouldn’t work with the executive on a future project, but he went on Twitter to say that we should expect more fallout from the investigation.

For context, these tweets came after a report that Fisher’s Cyborg character was written out of the forthcoming “Flash” film. Previously, it was reported that Fisher had a part in the film, but there was contention regarding contractual terms that was preventing him from signing on. Then, The Wrap reported that WB went ahead and wrote his character out of the script.

He tweeted, “I strongly suggest that @TheWrap amend this article immediately. While I appreciate the reporter’s undying desire to do @wbpictures and Walter Hamada’s bidding—it is factually inaccurate. I did not publicly step down from anything.”

“If @wbpictures has made the decision to remove me from The Flash, rather than address, in any way, Walter Hamada tampering with the JL investigation—that’s on them,” he continued. “The idea of removing the role, rather than recasting it, is only being used to try to avoid public backlash…The fact is: the Justice League investigation led to @WarnerMedia (and it’s affiliates) parting ways with Joss Whedon. Geoff Johns will be following suit. Had Walter Hamada gotten his way, NONE of that would have been possible, and the cycle of abuse would’ve continued.”

While Fisher is correct that Joss Whedon did step away from an upcoming project that he was working on with HBO (part of the larger WarnerMedia), the accusation that WB would be “parting ways” with Geoff Johns was quickly refuted, as Variety reported that Johns is very much still working on multiple DC superhero projects (including as showrunner of “Stargirl” TV series).

And then finally, The Wrap released a new report, which had Warner Bros. commenting on the recent tweets by Fisher.

“The investigation was conducted by an outside law firm and led by a former federal judge,” said a WB spokesperson. “More than 80 people were interviewed. We have full confidence in its thoroughness and integrity, and remedial action has been taken. The investigation has concluded, and it is time to move on.”

It would appear that the fallout from the investigation has already been seen and Warner Bros. has no further action forthcoming. So, you have to wonder what Fisher is hoping to do next? He’s already burned bridges with WB and DC films. He’s part of Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” director’s cut, but it appears that there’s no way he’s returning as Cyborg in another capacity. And in no uncertain terms, WB told him to kindly go away. It would appear we are approaching the end of this months-long conversation.
