Gal Gadot Backs Ray Fisher; Says Her 'Justice League' Experience With Joss Whedon "Wasn't The Best One"

For months now, Ray Fisher has seemingly launched a one-man war against the likes of Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns, and Jon Berg for how the trio treated him (and reportedly others) during the reshoots on 2017’s “Justice League.” While over that time, we’ve heard more specifics about what happened, it’s been largely Fisher on the front lines trying to spread his “Accountability > Entertainment” message about the “abuse” suffered during the reshoots. But now, it appears that he has the backing of Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot.

Shortly after Fisher came out with all of his accusations against the writer-director, Whedon, specifically, there has largely been silence from his fellow “Justice League” actors. Jason Momoa did share a quick show of support on Instagram, but other than that, nothing from the likes of Ben Affleck, Ezra Miller, Henry Cavill, or Gadot. However, in a new report from Variety, it does appear that Gadot did speak to Warner Bros’ independent investigators during the recently-wrapped investigation into Fisher’s claims. Though it’s unclear what she said and what those “remedial actions” were the studio is going to take.

However, when speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Gadot goes a bit further to not only show her support for Fisher, but she also talks about her own experiences with Joss Whedon, which were, uh, not so great.

“I know that they’ve done a very thorough investigation, even just by how much time I spent with them,” Gadot said. “I don’t know what [remedial action] means either,” she said, adding, “I’m curious to know what’s going to be the outcome.”

She added, “I’m happy for Ray to go out and speak his truth. I wasn’t there with the guys when they shot with Joss Whedon — I had my own experience with [him], which wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it there and when it happened I took it to the higher-ups and they took care of it. But I’m happy for Ray to go up and say his truth.”

Judging by her carefully worded statement, it’s clear that Gadot didn’t vibe well with Whedon for whatever reason. And though she doesn’t go as far as to claim abuse or racism, as Fisher has, she does show her support for the actor, which does in a way show her endorsement of his claims. That said, it’s clear there is a lot more about this whole Whedon/“Justice League” reshoot drama than we were originally led to believe.

Regardless, in better news for fans of the DC films, Zack Snyder is still putting the finishing touches on his original cut of “Justice League” and has gone so far as to tease the release. In a post on social media, he mentioned the March HBO Max release of his cut of the film. And in a recent tease by HBO Max, it appears the cut is actually called “Justice League: Director’s Cut.”
