I may not personally know any Bronies, but I do know enough about “My Little Pony” to realize the brand has extended far beyond the plastic horses that were advertised when I watched cartoons on Saturday mornings as a kid. An animated big-screen outing was pretty much inevitable, but I’m kind of amazed at the voice cast they’ve managed to assemble.

Emily Blunt, Zoe Saldana, Michael Peña, Liev Schreiber, Kristin Chenoweth, Sia, and Taye Diggs all lend their pipes to this production, which will take audiences on an equestrian adventure. Here’s the official synopsis:

A new dark force is threatening Ponyville, and the Mane 6 — Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity — embark on a quest beyond Equestria to use the magic of friendship and save their home.

“My Little Pony” opens on October 6th.
