Great Odin's Raven! Will Ferrell To Guest In 4-Episode Arc On 'The Office'

While it’s not our long anticipated reunion between Ron Burgundy and Brick Tamland, this will definitely tide us over for now. Deadline reports that Will Ferrell will be joining “The Office” including one episode that will take place after Steve Carell‘s Michael Scott has left the branch.

For those you not the following the show (and after a dreadful season six we don’t blame you, but this season has been solid so far), Steve Carell is set to leave the show this season, leaving a vacancy for the manager position at the Scranton branch of Dunder-Mifflin. Carell’s exit is actually going to come mid-season, with the remaining episodes focusing on who will take the open job (it’s being kept under wraps which of the staff will land the gig). Ferrell will play a branch manager who is “just as inappropriate” as Michael Scott.

No word yet on when the episodes will air, but the show has been knocking it out of park with guest appearances this season. The excellent Amy Ryan has returned as Michael Scott’s love interest Holly; Timothy Olyphant guested recently as the newly hired road salesman and tonight, Ricky Gervais is set to make an appearance as David Brent, reprising his role from the UK original the he created and started it all. We can’t wait.

“The Office” is on NBC Thursdays at 9:00 PM.
