A new, lengthy UK trailer for the upcoming Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz led action/comedy “Knight And Day” has arrived, and at nearly three minutes long and pretty much giving away every major set piece in the movie, we have to say we’re kind of sort of maybe looking forward to this. Almost.
While Cameron Diaz is basically playing the exact same role Katherine Heigl will play in “Killers” as the put upon/flightly/screamy woman who becomes embroiled with an assassin/secret agent, unlike Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise actually looks like a lot of fun (and it certainly seems like he’s have a blast). We were sort of surprised how much we enjoyed Cruise’s slightly crazy antics, and with his character who is a super spy who experiences a break from reality, he seems to be riffing a bit on his couch-jumping persona.
In the most tepid summer tentpole season in recent memory, will “Knight & Day” be a pleasant surprise? Or is this just three minutes of all the best bits crammed into a trailer? God, we hope the former if only to make the gap between now and “Inception” slightly more bearable. “Knight And Day” hits theaters on June 25th.
