Indie horror is having a big moment in 2026, thanks to the massive success of films like “Obsession,” “Backrooms,” and “Hokum.” Now NEON will get in on the genre action this summer with “It Ends,” another horror movie that actually predates the three films mentioned above by a small margin, as it debuted at SXSW 2025.
Arriving in theaters later this summer, “It Ends” follows four college grads on what may be best described as the road trip from hell. heck out NEON’s first teaser for the pic below.
Here’s an official synopsis for the horror film, courtesy of NEON:
Four recent college grads on a night time drive find themselves stuck on a road that sprawls on forever, with seemingly no end in sight. They are occasionally attacked by stragglers and have to find a routine to plan their rest stops, but after a few thousand miles it all feels the same. Still, they keep on driving, only in the belief something better will come eventually.
“It Ends” stars Akira Jackson, Phinehas Yoon, Mitchell Cole, and Noah Toth.
Alex Ullom writes and directs “It Ends,” his directorial debut. Producers on the film include Carry Carusone and Evan Barber.
“It Ends” hits theaters on August 21. Check out the teaser for the horror film below.
