‘The Boys’ Season 2 First Look Clip: The Super Haves And Super Have-Nots Resume Their Rivalry On Amazon

Anyone not believing the superhero business is a bona fide cash cow is living in the same fantasy worlds those characters inhabit. And it’s not just theaters that are raking in the money. In fact, Homelander of Amazon’s highly successful series “The Boys” wants a piece of the pie too. Manufacturing a terrorist crisis for him and the Seven to swoop in, save the day and collect the monetary fruits of their labors? What’s more meta than that? The titular vigilantes—however—look to spoil the Seven’s collection of spoils and more as the next season approaches.

Showrunner Eric Kripke returns to the project adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book series of the same name. He is also the creative force behind The CW’s “Supernatural,” set to hopefully air the last few episodes of its 15^th and final season later this year. Additionally, Kripke’s original comic series “Jacked”—about an ordinary guy bestowed with super strength after taking a gimmick pill—is currently in development for its own TV adaptation on USA Network.

Karl Urban returns as Billy Butcher and will—no doubt—want to get to the bottom of the father reveal at the conclusion of season one. The father-in-question returns too, as Antony Starr reprises the role of Homelander. Also back are Erin Moriarty as Starlight, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, and many more familiar faces. New cast members include Patton Oswalt (“The King of Queens” & “Ratatouille) and Aya Cash (“You’re the Worst”).

THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

Season two of “The Boys” premieres on Amazon Prime on September 4 and in a show of confidence, Amazon just announced the series was renewed for Season 3 already. Check out the first clip and teaser below, as this saga of role reversal continues zooming by at the speed of a cash register’s ding!
