Chloe Moretz & Asa Butterfield Join Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo Cabret'

We have no idea what’s going on today, but casting news seems to be coming out in piecemeal portions. Earlier today, it was reported that Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley were in talks to join Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo Cabret.” Now, Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Chloe Moretz and Asa Butterfield are set to join Scorsese’s 1931 set children’s fantasy tale.

The young Brit actor Butterfield, perhaps best known to American audiences for his role in “The Boy In The Striped Pajamas,” will play the lead role of the title character. Moretz, who is already earning buzz for her turn in “Kick-Ass” and is set to appear in the upcoming remake “Let Me In,” has earned the female lead role of Isabelle. Cohen is set to play the station master of the train station Hugo lives in, while Kingsley will play French cinematic icon, George Méliès.

The film is set to go in front of cameras in Paris in May and will most likely hit theaters in 2011.
