Chris Rock’s A24 Movie About An Actress’ Comeback Stars Rosalind Eleazar, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya & Anna Kendrick

Comedian and filmmaker Chris Rock is gearing up for his first feature effort at A24, as his untitled project (tentatively referred to as “Misty Green“) has landed quite the high-profile cast to play the main lineup of characters that populate a story of a Los Angeles actress looking to make a grand comeback.

Rock will write and direct as Deadline reveals that Rosalind Eleazar, Adam Driver (“Ferrari”), Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas & The Black Messiah”), and Anna Kendrick (“Another Simple Favor”) have taken roles, with the former addition best known from “Slow Horses,” playing our protagonist actress Misty Green in the project.

The outlet also mentioned a brief logline:

“A gifted actress with a derailed career until someone from her past offers her a chance at a comeback.”

Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles, and we’re curious if more big names will get involved with Chris Rock’s latest directorial effort, his first non-stand-up project behind the camera since the 2014 movie “Top Five.”

This marks the first big live-action role for Kaluuya since Jordan Peele‘s sci-fi thriller “Nope,” as the actor has been keeping a low profile since his Best Supporting Actor Oscar win for “Judas & The Black Messiah” back in 2021, with recent voice acting roles in “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” and “Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.”

Another upcoming film with Driver is James Gray‘s crime pic “Paper Tiger,” co-starring with Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller.

Character details for the other actors’ roles are being kept under wraps, at the moment, but likely we’ll learn more in the future, and if A24 will land on the “Misty Green” title or select something else.
