First Look: Jim Jarmusch's 'The Limits of Control'

While there has been a handful of fan-snapped photos on the Spanish set of Jim Jarmuch’s “The Limits of Control,” the first real press photos from the picture have made their way online. We get our first true glimpses of the cast including, Isaach De Bankolé, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton (above), Gael Garcia Bernal and Paz de la Huerta (below). The picture’s details has been mostly kept under and all we really know is this vague synopsis:

“The Limits of Control” is the story of a mysterious loner (De Bankolé), a stranger, whose activities remain meticulously outside the law. He is in the process of completing a job, yet he trusts no one, and his objectives are not initially divulged (PS, that wasn’t translated from another language either in case you’re wondering).

Shot by cinematographer Christopher Doyle (Wong Kar-Wai’s main guy) “The Limits of Control” is due in U.S. theaters on May 22 in limited release via Focus Features and also stars Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Gael García Bernal, Isaach De Bankolé (“Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai”), Youki Kudoh (“Mystery Train,” “Memoirs of a Geisha”), Hiam Abbass (“The Visitor”), Paz de la Huerta (“Choke,” “The Guitar”), Luis Tosar, Alex Descas and Jean-François Stevenin. There’s also reasonable and sound speculation that the film will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Considering that that fest begins right around the same time as the U.S. release (early to mid-May) think of it as a strong, bet-worthy contender.
