'The Grinch' Trailer: Is Your Grinch Face Showing?

We’ve probably all been accused of having resting Grinch face. But, what do you expect when the summer has only just started and there are already countdowns to Christmas, decorations being put out in stores, and holiday movie news being released? While some say that it’s never too early to be talking about Christmas, the Grinch is saying that it’s never too early to plan how to ruin Christmas. And can we blame him? It seems as if he didn’t have the most joyous of holiday seasons in the orphanage.

While the Grinch is plotting on how to be the literal worst, down in Who-ville, Cindy-Lou Who—a young girl overflowing with holiday cheer—plots with her gang of friends to trap Santa Claus as he makes his Christmas Eve rounds so that she can thank him for help for her overworked single mother.  As Christmas approaches, however, her good-natured scheme threatens to collide with the Grinch’s more nefarious one.

While many may be wondering if Cindy-Lou achieve her goal of finally meeting Santa Claus or if the Grinch succeed in silencing the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all, we are sat here wondering if Illumination and the team behind “The Grinch” will be taking a page out of Pixar and “The Incredibles 2” playbook and be targeting this movie to the older audience that grew up with the original animated ‘Grinch’ movie as well as the Jim Carey live-action adaptation.

Brought to you by the same studio that brought you “Despicable Me” and “The Lorax,” it appears that “The Grinch” could be another hit at the box office for Illumination. The studio has made quite the name for itself in the animation world and based on the trailer this movie won’t disappoint.

Currently, we are sitting in the same place we were when the first trailer dropped, with the only cast member listed named being Benedict Cumberbatch and we are itching to find out who is voicing Cindy-Lou Who. The film is co-directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier, in his feature-length directorial debut. The screenplay was written by Michael LeSieur and Tommy Swerdlow.

“The Grinch” is slated for release on November 9.
