The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” an upcoming six-episode limited series from Apple TV+, was adapted by popular crime fiction writer Walter Mosley from his 2010 novel about a dementia-addled misanthrope who pieces together the details of a murder. Here’s the official synopsis:

Ptolemy Grey an ailing man forgotten by his family, by his friends, and by even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn. When they learn about a treatment that can restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present, and future.”

Apple TV+ doesn’t skimp on talent, and the creative team behind “Ptolemy Grey” has an unsurprisingly impressive resume. Two previous Mosley works have been the basis for films, most notably his debut novel “Devil in a Blue Dress.” The direction, meanwhile, was handled by Ramin Bahrani, who most recently wrote and directed the Oscar-nominated Netflix drama “The White Tiger.” Jackson himself executive produced alongside Mosley, Bahrani, et al.

Jackson’s supporting cast includes BAFTA nominee Dominique Fishback (“Judas and the Black Messiah”), Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (“Real Husbands of Hollywood”), Damon Gupton (“Bates Motel”), Marsha Stephanie Blake (“I Am Your Woman”), Walton Goggins (“Justified”) and Omar Miller (“Ballers”).

The entire series will be available on Apple TV+ beginning March 11. Watch the first trailer below.
