This May will see “Succession” creator Jesse Armstrong (“Peep Show”) make a big splash with his latest feature effort, “Mountainhead,” a pic that continues his streak of exploring eccentric billionaire characters and their chaotic dynamics within the world of business.
HBO Original Films has sent over a first-look teaser trailer for the streaming flick to share that will debut on May 31 on HBO and streaming on Max.
Assembled for Armstrong’s new film is a collection of impressive talent such as Steve Carell as Randall, Jason Schwartzman as Souper (Hugo Van Yalk), Cory Michael Smith as Venis, and Ramy Youssef as Jeff. The rest of the supporting cast includes Hadley Robinson as Hester, comedian Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Amie MacKenzie as Janine, and Ava Kostia as Paula.
An official synopsis for “Mountainhead” courtesy of HBO Original Films:
A group of billionaire friends get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis.
As the teaser reflects, we’ll see a group of friends, referred to as “presidents of tech,” who are trying to ghoulishly profit from an international crisis with all sorts of comedic jockeying for power positions within the friend group which will be extremely attractive for those who followed the sensationial Emmy-winning series “Succession” and newcomers alike.
