'Never Have I Ever' Season 3 Trailer: Same Nerds, New Dramas

We all look back on our high school years differently, and Hollywood has no end of coming-of-age stories, from “Ferris Buller’s Day Off” to Marvel’s “Spider-Man” franchise starring Tom Holland. Netflix is no stranger to the high school tropes, with shows like “Stranger Things” and “American Vandal.”

Initially released in 2020, Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” follows the coming-of-age tropes mixed with some comedy and drama. The series follows an Indian-American teenager, Devi, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, as she navigates through new relationships, school drama, and family life at home.

“Never Have I Ever” will return to Netflix for its third season, with ten thirty-minute episodes set to be released. The series will include new guest stars such as Terry Hu as Addison, a crazy hot non-binary person from the local private school, and Deacon Phillippe as Parker, Devi’s debate team rival from a well-funded private school.

Creator Mindy Kaling is best known to audiences as Kelly on the NBC show “The Office.” Kaling additionally serves as a writer, executive producer, and director on several episodes. Others may know Mindy from her show “The Mindy Project, starring ‘Office’ co-star B.J Novak and “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” starring Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney.

However, Mindy isn’t alone on this project. Lang Fisher will serve as co-creator, executive producer, showrunner, and writer for the series. Fisher also joined Kaling on the “Mindy Project” as a writer and has written for other comedy shows such as “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “30 Rock,” so it looks as though the series is in good hands.

Season 3 of “Never Have I Ever” will premiere on Netflix on August 12, 2022.
