One of our most anticipated indie films hitting this summer sees the long-awaited return of "Little Miss Sunshine" directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who haven't been seen since their Oscar-conquering 2006 Sundance hit. So what did it take to bring them back into the limelight? A teaming with indie-darling Zoe Kazan and her boyfriend Paul Dano on the whimisical-sounding, Charlie Kaufman-esque dramedy "Ruby Sparks."
We now have a few new images courtesy of Fox Searchlight featuring the leading quartet behind the picture, which will follow the "true and impossible" story of Calvin, an author (Dano) struggling to overcome writer's block following his successful first novel. Calvin writes about his ideal perfect woman, only for her to come to life. It could sound a bit one-note, but in the hands of Dayton and Faris, we're confident something special is in store. And how can you not love the Dano/Kazan pairing?
If, for some reason, you need any more convincing, how about the delightful trailer or the supporting cast, which includes Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Elliott Gould, Steve Coogan, Chris Messina, Deborah Ann Woll, Alia Shawkat and Aasif Mandvi? "Ruby Sparks" hits theaters July 25th.
