Phoebe Waller-Bridge To Star Opposite Ryan Reynolds In John Krasinski's New Film

Two years ago, it was revealed that John Krasinski was set to step behind the camera again to write and direct a new film called “Imaginary Friends,” with Ryan Reynolds set to star. Since then, the filmmaker went on to make “A Quiet Place Part 2,” then a pandemic arrived, setting everything behind. And now, we’re back talking about the Krasinski/Reynolds collaboration, once again.

According to THR, John Krasinski has brought on Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Fiona Shaw to co-star opposite Ryan Reynolds and Krasinski himself in the upcoming film. The report says the feature is untitled, so perhaps the “Imaginary Friends” title was a bit premature. However, the plot of the film is said to follow a child’s journey to rediscover their imagination. It’s expected that even more big names will join the growing ensemble cast.

Interestingly, Waller-Bridge and Shaw are no strangers to each other. Shaw is currently part of the cast of “Killing Eve,” which was created and produced by Waller-Bridge. The duo also worked together on an episode of “Fleabag” Season 2. So, perhaps they’re a bit of a combination deal.

As mentioned, the untitled film is the latest feature from Krasinski as a filmmaker. Previously, he worked on the aforementioned “A Quiet Place” films, as well as the “The Hollars” and “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men .” But when you take all of his work into consideration, it really was with the two “A Quiet Place” films where Krasinski proved his chops as a filmmaker and has quickly become one of the biggest names in Hollywood.

The untitled film is set to begin production sometime in Summer 2022, with an anticipated release date of November 17, 2023.
