You have to imagine Netflix is a bit let down by the release of the two “Rebel Moon” films earlier this year. While they definitely had decent viewership, the reviews for the films are terrible. These were supposed to kickstart a franchise, and if critical reception has anything to do with it, then both films were dead in the water. But that’s not stopping Netflix from fulfilling its promise to Zack Snyder and allowing him to release Director’s Cuts of both films.
Up until now, we didn’t know much about the new cuts of the films. However, with the release of both Snyder Cuts of “Rebel Moon” in less than two months, Netflix has gone ahead and released a new synopsis, new titles, and new images for the films.
As was previously leaked, the new titles for the two ‘Rebel Moon’ features are “Rebel Moon: Chapter One – Chalice of Blood” and “Rebel Moon: Chapter Two – Curse of Forgiveness.” Both of the films, interestingly, are getting a release on the same day – August 2. Apparently, Netflix doesn’t see a reason to drag the releases out and is just giving them to fans both on the same day.

Here’s the new synopsis:
Delve further into the mythology and madness of Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga in the viciously sexier, bloodier world of Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness. In Snyder’s director’s cut, a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Motherworld, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants, and orphans of war who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a new army of heroes is formed.
The films star Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, with Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Staz Nair, Fra Fee, Cleopatra Coleman, Stuart Martin, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Alfonso Herrera, Cary Elwes, Rhian Rees, Elise Duffy, Jena Malone, Sky Yang, Charlotte Maggi, and Corey Stoll.
As mentioned, both new Snyder Cuts of ‘Rebel Moon’ are being released on August 2. You can see the new images below:
