‘Sex Education’ Season 2 Trailer: Netflix’s Comedy Series Sees Asa Butterfield Navigate His New Relationship

It was one of Netflix’s standout shows of 2019, and now “Sex Education” will be returning for a brand new season this year, with it set to be as wild as the first season.

The show was created by Laurie Nunn (a writer on the announced “The Summer House”), which showcases the sexual struggles in teenagers at high school, as they grow up and learn about themselves and their budding sexualities.

Asa Butterfield (“Hugo”) stars as Otis Milburn, the son of sex therapist Jean (played by the wonderful Gillian Anderson). During Season 1, he found he had a knack for giving some great sex advice, even starting his own sex clinic in the school with friend/crush Maeve (Emma Mackey). However, their turbulent relationship during the debut season has found itself on the rocks as Otis begins Season 2with a new girlfriend, leaving Maeve feeling down and wondering what could have been.

Here is the synopsis for Season 2:

“Sex Education” is about Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), a socially awkward high school student who lives with his sex therapist mother, Jean (Gillian Anderson). In season 1 Otis and friend Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) set-up a sex clinic at school to capitalize on his intuitive talent for sex advice…

In season 2, as a late bloomer Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a Chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo.

Season 2 of “Sex Education” arrives on Netflix on January 17. Watch the new trailer below.
