Coming into 2018, no one expected that the best superhero film of the year would be the Sony animated feature “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” But now, after the success of “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Venom,” and more, it appears that ‘Spider-Verse’ is going to take the crown as the best the genre has to offer in 2018, if not the previous 10 years. And while the animation, voice cast, and story are getting a lot of the headlines, the score is also a crucial factor to that film’s success.
And in honor of the score’s impending digital release, we are proud to offer an exclusive sneak peek at one of the tracks from the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton. Watching ‘Spider-Verse,’ it’s clear that a special score is needed to keep up with the kinetic action and visuals in the film, and Pemberton’s music is more than up to the task.
For those not familiar with “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” the film follows a young Miles Morales, who is his universe’s new Spider-Man, as he attempts to figure out his newfound role as Spider-people from other universes begin to show up to help fight the evil Wilson Fisk and attempt to save the multiple universes. The film is produced by the incredible duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and is receiving universal acclaim from nearly every critic who has seen the animated film (currently sitting at an astounding 99% on Rotten Tomatoes).

The score and soundtrack for “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” goes on digital pre-sale on December 13, and the film itself hits theaters on December 14.
