According to Deadline, the Warrens will again be the focus of the haunted film universe as they attempt to protect their young 10-year-old daughter from the evil spirit inside the Annabelle doll. First introduced in “The Conjuring,” the Annabelle doll was the first character to spin-off into its own franchise, spawning the hugely successful “Annabelle” and the prequel “Annabelle: Creation.” However, in the franchise’s present day, the doll has been safely locked up in the artifacts room of the Warrens. That’s where the new film picks up, as the doll is ready to wreak more havoc for the ghost hunting family.

Also joining the cast are Mckenna Grace, slated to play the young Warren child Judy, and Madison Iseman in an unnamed role. The latest sequel is written by longtime ‘Conjuring’ cinematic universe writer Gary Dauberman. The writer is responsible for “Annabelle,” ‘Creation,’ and the massive recent hit “The Nun.” However, for the threequel, Dauberman is also stepping behind the camera for his directorial debut. So, fans of the ‘Conjuring’ universe should rest easy knowing that they are in good jump-scaring hands.
