The Cannes Film Festival is in less than two weeks, but if you’re eager to see Steven Soderbergh‘s final film, “Behind The Candelabra,” HBO has got you covered. While the movie will unspool on the Croisette in the official competition (and it’s also getting a theatrical release in territories abroad as well, including France), by the end of the month, you’ll be able to sit back and watch it yourself in the comfort of your own home. As an early gift, a generous peek behind the scenes has now arrived.
A healthy twelve-minute featurette has dropped, diving deep into the making of the movie, with lots of footage from the movie, visits to the set, backgrounds on the characters and so much more. It’s essentially a “Behind The Candelabra 101” and a pretty good watch if you’re even mildly interested in the film. Meanwhile, the soundtrack details have also arrived and it’s notable for featuring the last music written by famed composer Marvin Hamlisch. Liberace also features (duh) and Michael Douglas gets a couple of cuts himself as well.
“Behind The Candelabra” airs on May 26th (so tune in once you’re done gorging on “Arrested Development”). The soundtrack drops on May 21st. [Film Music Reporter]
