Watch: First Trailer For 'Tulip Fever' Starring Alicia Vikander, Christoph Waltz, Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, And More

It seems you can’t go a few weeks without hearing about a movie featuring Alicia Vikander. The actress is having a very busy 2015, with three movies on her slate for 2016, including the blockbuster “Jason Bourne” and the Derek Cianfrance directed “The Light Between Oceans.” But coming before both of those is “Tulip Fever,”  a movie she shot back in 2014 and which features a new experience for Vikander, oddly enough.

“Of course I’ve had a run of great opportunities and characters to play, but I was shooting this scene with Holliday Grainger that just felt like something new,” she told The Guardian last year about making the movie. “It just came so easily, and we were having so much fun. And only when we were chatting afterwards did I suddenly realize why: I’d just made five films in a row, and this was the first one where I had a scene with another woman.”

Vikander has a lot more actors and actresses to play off in “Tulip Fever.” Christoph WaltzDane DeHaanJack O’Connell, Cara Delevingne, Judi Dench and Zach Galafianakis also feature in the adaptation of the book by Deborah Moggach. The film is set in 17th century Amsterdam and follows a married woman who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together.

“Tulip Fever” opens on July 17th.
