The script for the sequel is already written, the lengthy Comic-Con trailer pretty much blew everyone away last summer, and much has been said about George Miller‘s approach to "Max Max: Fury Road" which favors visuals and action over dialogue. Essentially, this is one feverish, desert-dry take on the iconic series, and a new trailer has shifted into gear today.
Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron lead the movie that finds Mad Max teaming with elite Imperator Furiosa as they flee across the wasteland in a war rig. In hot pursuit is Immortan Joe, enraged and looking to obtain something that has been taken from him, and he rounds up his gangs for an all out Road War. Okay, so it’s not Dostoevsky, but it looks like that’s the point, with Miller stripping the narrative to its bare essentials and then just letting it fly. And indeed, co-star Nicholas Hoult confirms the long-running rumor that you won’t be hearing much talking.
“You have the odd word, but the dialogue, it’s strange, the words they used,” he explained, adding the script was like a "comic book." “They didn’t speak like I would speak, or like anybody would speak nowadays.”
