Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Scoot McNairy Join 'Fargo' Season 3

With two seasons in the can, and lots of critical acclaim and trophies on the shelf, few would argue that “Fargo” is doing the anthology series format better than most at the moment. And the show is attracting increasingly starry talent, with Ewan McGregorin dual roles, no less — for season three, the biggest coup yet. But the talent being assembled around the actor is also quite impressive.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Scoot McNairy are the latest to join season three, which will also feature “The Leftovers” star Carrie Coon. Set in 2010, the series will revolve around brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy (both played by McGregor) who couldn’t be more different: the former is the handsome Parking Lot King of Minnesota, while the latter is the far less noteworthy sibling whose glory days in high school are long behind him. Winstead will be playing Nikki Swango, a bridge enthusiast, and recent parolee, with McNairy’s part under wraps. As for Coon, she’ll be Gloria, Eden’s Chief Of Police.

Production on “Fargo” season three will get underway later this year, with the show returning next year. And it looks like it’s going to be one worth anticipating. [THR/TVLine]
