Carrie Coon Goes From 'The Leftovers' To 'Fargo' Season 3

Carrie Coon sees something in threes. The actress will be soon be saying goodbye to “The Leftovers” in its third and in final season, due next year, but from there she’ll be hopping over to another acclaimed show, which coincidentally enough, is gearing up its third season.

The actress is signing up for a role in FX‘s “Fargo” season three. She’ll be joining Ewan McGregor who is leading the next iteration of the show playing the dual roles of twin brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy, the former successful and wealthy, while the latter is mired in misfortune. Coon is taking the role of the gloriously named Gloria Bugle, a divorced mother, and cool-headed chief of the Eden Valley police, in the story that will take place closer to present day than the first two seasons.

Pretty promising stuff, and it’ll be interesting to see who else boards the show as it gears up to go into production. Sadly, there won’t be any more new episodes this year, but “Fargo” is slated to return in 2017. [TV Line]
