15+ October Films To Watch: ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ ‘We Live In Time,’ ‘Anora’ & More

We Live in Time” 
Directed by John Crowley, best known for the Oscar-nominated “Brooklyn, the romantic comedy-drama “We Live In Time” reunites him with his “Boy A” star Andrew Garfield—the film that launched the actor’s career back in 2007. Co-starring Florence Pugh, the drama centers on the pair who meet in a chance encounter and their decade-long relationship.
Release Date: October 11 via A24. 

Saturday Night
Jason Reitman brings together a strong ensemble for his latest, “Saturday Night,” which depicts the tumultuous 90 minutes leading up to the first live production of Saturday Night Live. The film follows Lorne Michaels (Gabriel LaBelle) as he tries to ward off those who look to interfere with the premiere. Dylan O’Brien, Lamorne Morris, Cory Michael Smith, Rachel Sennott, Matt Wood, Ella Hunt, and more star. (Read our review.)
Release Date: October 11 via Sony Pictures Releasing.

Brothers
Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin star in “Brothers” as the titular brothers who are known thieves. Their lives get turned around when their estranged mother reappears in their lives. Max Barbakow directs in his first film since his directorial debut “Palm Springs” with a script from Macon Blair (“I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore.”) Glenn Close, Marisa Tomei, and Brendan Fraser also star. 
Release Date: In select theaters on October 10 before streaming on Prime Video on October 17 via Amazon MGM Studios

Smile 2
Coming out of nowhere in 2022, the small horror “Smile” was a runaway box office hit for filmmaker Parker Finn. With a modest budget reportedly under $20 million, the film would go on to earn $217 million worldwide. Naturally, Paramount fast-tracked a sequel, and “Smile 2,” which features plenty of people with creepy grins, is now upon us. Now starring Naomi Scott as a Taylor Swift-esque pop star who is being stalked by the scary entity, she’s joined in the cast by Rosemarie DeWitt, Kyle Gallner, and Lukas Gage.
Release Date: October 18 via Paramount Pictures.

Woman Of The Hour
Anna Kendrick stars in her directorial debut, “Women of the Hour,” based on the script written by Ian McDonald. Based on the life of serial killer Rodney Alcala, the film follows Cheryl Bradshaw, a contestant on a dating game show that Alcala also appears on. Daniel Zovatto, Nicolette Robinson, Tony Hale, and Kathryn Gallagher also star. (Read our review.)
Release Date: Available to stream on Netflix on October 18.
