Once boldly described as being in the vein of "127 Hours," "Jaws," and "Gravity," the movie has a simple premise: a young woman on a secluded beach gets stranded near shore, while a great white shark wants to make a meal out of her. Here’s the official synopsis:
In the taut thriller The Shallows, Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a great white shark and stranded just a short distance from shore. "The Shallows" opens on June 24th.
