Got a Tip?

Paul Bettany’s Vision To Reportedly Join Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch In Disney Streaming Series

As we move closer to the supposed launch timeframe of the as-yet-untitled Disney streaming service, we’re beginning to get some more information about what we might expect from some of the superhero offerings. Unlike the series that are currently airing on Netflix, Hulu, Freeform, and ABC, Disney is fully utilizing the power of Marvel Studios for the streaming service.

That means your favorite MCU characters (and thus the actors) are coming back for short limited series. We already know that there’s a Loki series (with Tom Hiddleston) in development, as well as a Falcon/Winter Soldier show. There have also been reports that Scarlet Witch is getting a six- or eight-episode series. And according to a new report, we know another hero that could be joining her.

Slash Film is reporting that Vision, as in the android played by Paul Bettany that was last seen getting his “brain” ripped out by Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War,” is likely to join Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in a series. This shouldn’t be too surprising given that the two characters are love interests in the film series. Also, Vision and Scarlet Witch have long been romantic partners in the regular Marvel Universe for decades, even spawning kids. The details of how a superhero woman and an android can make babies are…interesting, to say the least. But hey, that’s comics!

The report says that while the series was initially reported as a Scarlet Witch-led series, the focus might actually be on the duo instead of just her. Could this mean we’re getting the superhero rom-com idea that fans have been hoping for? Or perhaps something more along the lines of “Ant-Man & the Wasp?” That is to be determined.

As we’ve mentioned, these series are being developed by Marvel Studios and not Marvel TV (long story, but we discussed the difference in a recent podcast), and will be spearheaded by Kevin Feige. No release date is known at this time.
