Kevin Feige Confirms Chadwick Boseman Recorded “Numerous Episodes” Of Marvel Show “What If…?”

During Disney‘s recent, massive shareholder’s presentation, a trailer for the upcoming Marvel animated show “What If…?” a scene showed T’Challa, prompting questions of whether Marvel had replaced the voice of Chadwick Boseman following his passing earlier this year. Now, head Marvel honcho, Kevin Feige confirms Boseman did record lines for “numerous episodes” of the show.

In the latest issue of Emmy Magazine, Feige talked about the future Marvel projects coming to Disney+ including “What If…?” saying Chadwick Boseman “came in about four times and recorded numerous episodes” before passing in August. “In hindsight, it’s very moving,” Feige said.

Feige also took the opportunity to tease the upcoming show “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” which follows Sam Wilson as the new owner of the Captain America shield, and his adventures with Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier. “It’s a relatively grounded series,” Feige said of the show. “And though it takes place in the Marvel world, it’s more of a reflection of the real world. Considering it was written last year, it has only become more relevant and more poignant for our time.”

Previously, Anthony Mackie teased that the show would get more in-depth than the theatrical movies. “With this, you really get to see who the characters are in their lives between the movies.”

Feige also revealed that the upcoming “She-Hulk” TV show will be a half-hour legal comedy, saying “We’ve never done that before.” This seems to be in line with Dan Slott’s run of the comicbook, which did away with big mysteries and instead presented a straightforward and fun comedy. Weirdly, Feige did not confirm the reports that Tatiana Maslany was cast as the titular character.
