Got a Tip?

Taron Egerton & Paul Walter Hauser To Star In Dennis Lehane’s Apple TV+ Drama Series ‘In With The Devil’

Though both have taken very different routes in their careers, both Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser are two of the best rising stars in the film industry. Egerton has seen his star shoot up like a rocket thanks to a starring role in two ‘Kingsman’ action films, as well as an acclaimed role in “Rocketman.” And then you have Hauser, who is probably best known for his supporting work, but broke out last year thanks to his role in “Richard Jewell.” Now, both men will be working with each other on a new Apple TV+ series, titled “In with the Devil.”

According to Variety, both Egerton and Hauser are set to star opposite each other in the new drama series, “In with the Devil.” The six-episode limited series is based on the 2010 book, “In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption” by James Keene and Hillel Levin. The true story follows James Keene as he is given a chance to leave prison if he’s able to coax a full confession from a suspected serial killer that he is serving time with in jail. Egerton is set to play Keene in the series that is said to be about redemption and the lengths someone will go to for freedom.

Adding to the intrigue of the series is the fact that “In with the Devil” is written and produced by Dennis Lehane. The writer is probably best known as the author of the novels “Mystic River” and “Gone Baby Gone,” which were both adapted into hit films. As far as his film/TV work, he’s written for shows such as “The Wire,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Mr. Mercedes,” and most recently, “The Outsider.” The Apple TV+ series will be directed by Michaël R. Roskam, who is probably best known for his work on films “The Drop” and “Racer and the Jailbird.”

It’s unclear when “In with the Devil” will begin production and eventually find its way on the streaming service. However, with Egerton and Hauser, combined with Lehane and Roskam, this has all the makings of a great drama series and a strong addition to Apple’s star-studded library.
