Brad Anderson is a filmmaker who isn’t talked about nearly enough. Going back more than 20 years, the filmmaker has consistently made interesting thrillers. And his newest one, “The Silent Hour,” looks like it might be another solid entry for his filmography.

As seen in the trailer, “The Silent Hour” tells the story of a Boston detective who is involved in an accident that makes him lose his hearing. Coincidentally, his first big case back on duty involves helping a deaf woman. But in helping her, the detective finds himself on the run.
The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Sandra Mae Frank, Mekhi Phifer, and Mark Strong. “The Silent Hour” is directed by Brad Anderson. The filmmaker is probably best known for films such as “Session 9,” “The Machinist,” and “Beirut.” His most recent film is the 2022 thriller, “Blood.”

Here’s the synopsis:
Boston Detective Frank Shaw (Joel Kinnaman) returns to duty after a career-altering injury leaves him with permanent hearing loss. Tasked with interpreting for Ava Fremont (Sandra Mae Frank), a deaf witness to a brutal gang murder, they find themselves cornered in a soon-to-be-condemned apartment building when the killers return to eliminate her. Cut off from the outside world, these two strangers must lean on each other to outsmart killers they can’t hear coming for their only hope of making it out alive.
