‘Seven Veils’ Trailer: Amanda Seyfriend Stars In Atom Egoyan’s New Drama

It’s been more than a year since we saw “Seven Veils” play at the Toronto International Film Festival. After its debut in 2023, we were left wondering when we might see it actually get released. Thankfully, that wait is almost over.

As seen in the trailer for “Seven Veils,” the film tells the story of a theater director who is brought on to oversee the creation of her former mentor’s most famous opera. As she dives deeper into the production, she is haunted by visions from her past and the trauma from her life. 

The film stars Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Liddiard, Douglas Smith, Mark O’Brien, Vinessa Antoine, Ambur Braid, and Michael Kupfer-Radecky. “Seven Veils” is written and directed by Atom Egoyan. The filmmaker is probably best known for his films “Exotica,” “The Sweet Hereafter,” and “Chloe.” His most recent films are “The Guest of Honor,” “Remember,” and “The Captive.”

“Seven Veils” is finally arriving in theaters on March 7. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

After years away, theater director Jeanine (Academy Award® nominee Amanda Seyfried) re-enters the opera world to stage her former mentor’s most famous work. Haunted by dark and disturbing memories from her past, Jeanine allows her repressed trauma to color the present as her personal and professional lives begin to unravel.  Renowned director Atom Egoyan (Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter) reunites with Seyfried in this visually stunning, propulsive work, filmed on location during the staging of Egoyan’s acclaimed production of “Salome.”
