After a bidding war for an erotic thriller spec script penned by Dylan Brady, A24 has secured the feature film project, and already has Aussie actress Nicole Kidman said to be in talks for the film’s main role.
The report from Deadline revealed that the project, formerly known as “Discretion,” landed at A24 after suitors were bidding for the Brady script that sort of takes place within the world of moviemaking. Netflix, Amazon, Apple, FX, Peacock, and others were also reportedly in the mix, trying to buy the project before A24 walked away from the auction as the winning bidder.

However, it will see a name change so as not to be confused with the A24/Paramount+ series of the same name that stars Kidman and Elle Fanning (one of the better reasons to switch up a title). While the pic is awaiting a new title, it is said to be a drama that “centers on a struggling actor who takes a nannying job with a high-flying producer and her movie-star husband, plotting to seduce his employers and exploit their industry connections only to find himself ensnared in a far more dangerous game.”
Kidman has been one of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood, with a bunch of projects on the horizon, such as shows like “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” the Prime crime thriller series “Scarpetta,” the aforementioned Dallas-set legal drama “Discretion,” and recently joined the cast of Osgood Perkins‘ latest feature “Young People.”
They also mention that Kidman isn’t the only A-lister circling the project, and we cannot wait to see who ends up starring opposite the actress, along with who they end up hiring to direct the erotic thriller.
