Writer/director Blaise Beyhan has put together quite the cast for their next feature film, “New England Toys,” a mysterious period thriller that has already started filming in Buffalo, New York. Although it is unclear what year or decade it will take place in.
Set in the film’s main two lead roles will be Willa Fitzgerald (“Relay,” “Regretting You”) and Ruby Cruz (“Bottoms,” “Willow,” “The Threesome”) with other high-profile actors cast in supporting parts such as Paul Sparks (“House of Cards,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “The Lowdown”), Jason Schwartzman (“Mountainhead”), Jim Gaffigan (“Linoleum”), Jennifer Jason Leigh (“The Hateful Eight”), Paul Fitzgerald (“The Residence”), Asa Germann (“Scream 7”), William Sadler (“Die Hard 2,” “The Mist”), Dylan Baker (“Trick R Treat”), and Becky Ann Baker (“Ted Lasso”) said to be part of the cast, according to a report from Deadline.

Fitzergald, who also executive produces “New England Toys,” is coming off the buzzy JT Mollner serial killer thriller “Strange Darling,” had a supporting lead role in the first season of Prime‘s “Reacher” series, featured in Kathryn Bigelow‘s military thriller “A House of Dynamite,” appeared in Mike Flanagan‘s Netflix miniseries “The Fall of the House of Usher” based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe, and recently shot the Amma Asante-directed film “Billion Dollar Spy.”
This marks the second film from Beyhan after “Callback,” a project based on their short film of the same name that stars Fitzergald and Germann, so it’ll be a reunion of sorts with those two cast members.
Producing the pic will be Beyhan and Robby Gutmann, although we are still waiting on more concrete plot and character details. Given that production is already underway, those details likely aren’t too far away.
