Casting: Jack O’Connell Eyed For Gilliam's 'Don Quixote,' Chiwetel Ejiofor Joins 'The Martian' & More

Starred UpContinually on the precipice of happening (or not), Terry Gilliam‘s "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" appears to be flirting with a new cast member to join John Hurt in the troubled production. "Unbroken" and "Starred Up" star Jack O’Connell is apparently "in discussions" for the project, which is now tentatively aiming to shoot next fall. It would certainly be a major coup for Gilliam, with O’Connell sure to be more of a household name following Angelina Jolie‘s World War II later this year. But you never know with ‘Don Quixote’ how things will shake out, so we’ll just have to wait and see. [Daily Mail]

Ethan Hawke is getting in the jazzy spirit, taking the lead role in the Chet Baker biopic "Born To Be Blue." Writer-director Robert Budreau’s film follows "Chet Baker’s amazing comeback and roller coaster love affair that altered the way he played music and aided him on the road to redemption." Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sebastian Stan, and Mackenzie Davis are joining the massive ensemble of Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Donald Glover, Michael Pena, and Jeff Daniels for Ridley Scott‘s "The Martian." The movie tells the story of "Mark Watney, an astronaut who gets left behind on Mars when his crew mistakenly believes him dead." Oops. Production starts next month. [EW]

"The Wolf Of Wall Street" star Margot Robbie will do "The Taliban Shuffle" with Tina Fey. The film tells the true story of a journalist who arrives as "a fish out of water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan and dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war-correspondent culture." Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will direct. Nathalie Emmanuel, aka Missandei on "Game Of Thrones," has joined "The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials," where she’ll be the leader of a group of girls who have escaped a different maze and meet up with the dudes from the last movie. [THR

"Mad Men" star Kiernan Shipka, Meg Ryan, and "Moonrise Kingdom" actress Kara Hayward will come together for "Fan Girl." Paul Jarrett will direct the film "about a 15-year-old post-Millennial teen who lives for making movies and idolizing her favorite band. Given only a few days to complete a final film project, she comes up with an idea that could bring her two passions together." All Time Low will write the music for the movie and also make an appearance. [Deadline]
