All last year, Sylvester Stallone was enthusiastically teasing that “Creed 2” would be connected to “Rocky IV“ and would feature Ivan Drago. Indeed, the sequel will push forward the story of Adonis, but continue to look at the franchise’s past.
Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu has been cast as Ivan Drago Jr., and yep, he’ll be facing off Apollo. Of course, there’s some family business to wrap up, as Drago’s Dad killed Apollo’s Dad in the ring. You can see where this is going. Honestly, this isn’t the most compelling storyline to follow, but we’ll be there for Michael B. Jordan and Tessa Thompson. We’re also curious to see how director Steven Caple Jr. (“The Land”) will fare with his first major league gig. Even if the script by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker (“Luke Cage“) isn’t so hot, the talent could certainly bring it to the next level.
