‘Enola Holmes 2’ Trailer: Millie Bobby Brown Is A Detective-For-Hire & On The Case In Sequel

Enola Holmes is on the case again in the sequel, “Enola Homes 2.” Netflix’s popular adaptation of Nancy Springer’s first novel became a hit with audiences of all ages. Our own review found the project to be “...an absolute delight. Charming and fleet-footed, with a dynamic sense of frisson and clever chutzpah.” Now, the streaming service is poised to find more success with Holmes’ return. The film takes its cues from Springer’s six-book series, but seems to have found a voice of its own.

Netflix has dropped a new trailer for “Enola Holmes 2” during their Tudum event giving us a glimpse of the latest adventure of the young detective.

The project’s success can be attributed to a balance of great storytelling, a trusted team behind the scenes, and a cast led by “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown. Henry Cavill is set to reprise his role as Sherlock Holmes; the famous detective perfectly takes a backseat as his younger co-star leads the vehicle. The entire cast includes David Thewlis, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Helena Bonham Carter, returning to play the role of the Holmes matriarch Eudoria.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Fresh off the triumph of solving her first case, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill), and opens her own agency — only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn’t as easy as it seems. Resigned to accept the cold realities of adulthood, she is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister. But this case proves to be far more puzzling than expected, as Enola is thrown into a dangerous new world — from London’s sinister factories and colorful music halls, to the highest echelons of society and 221B Baker Street itself. As the sparks of a deadly conspiracy ignite, Enola must call upon the help of friends — and Sherlock himself — to unravel her mystery. The game, it seems, has found its feet again!

Director Harry Bradbeer, as well as screenwriter Jack Thorne, return for ‘Holmes 2.’ Bradbeer is best known for his work on the Emmy-winning series “Fleabag,” but his credits extend to the well-received project “Dickensian” for BBC One. Thorne notably wrote for the series “His Dark Materials” and “Skins.” Both Bradbeer and Thorne are executive producers on the film.
