Even though Ernie Hudson had a shitty time making "Ghostbusters," it’s still the project he’s most proud of, probably because it’s the one he’s most famous for. And so, he has a lot of strong opinions about it. When news was confirmed this week that Paul Feig‘s reboot of the franchise won’t be connected to the ’80s movies, and effectively starts over, Hudson suggested on Twitter that fans won’t welcome the news. And lest he be misinterpreted, he’s clarified those thoughts.
"I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies," he told The Telegraph. "If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it ‘Ghostbusters’?"
We’re not sure which dinosaur aged era Hudson has emerged from with this time machine, but his thoughts are clearly steeped from another time (maybe his ’80s heyday?), one where it was inconceivable that women could be funny and lead movies. Or maybe he just hasn’t seen the string of successful movies and amazing talent that are shifting outdated perceptions. Either way, Hudson’s assertion that he’s the most "difficult one" to get return to any "Ghostbusters" project should be fulfilled when his phone remains silent for an appearance in the next outing.
