TIFF Exclusive: First-Look Clip From 'Gimme The Loot' Director Adam Leon's 'Tramps' Starring Callum Turner & Grace Van Patten

Though we wish more people had seen it, Adam Leon’s 2012 film “Gimme The Loot” is one of the best films about being young in recent years. Detailing the story of two young New York graffiti artists attempting to break into Citi Field, it had an inventive energy, a richness, and a great soundtrack that set it apart from many similar U.S. indies out there.

Now, four years later, Leon is back with “Tramps,” which premieres at TIFF today. Picking up in spirit from its predecessor, it’s a New Wave-indebted adventure about a young man who agrees to transport a package for his shady brother, only to lose it, and team with a driver on a long night to get it back. It has a couple of fast-rising stars in the lead roles, with “Green Room” actor Callum Turner (who’s clearly going places: he just replaced Miles Teller in Marc Webb’s “The Only Living Boy In New York,” according to Variety) and Grace Van Patten, who’ll next appear in a major role in Noah Baumbach’s new film “Yeh Din Ka Kissa,” with Mike Birbiglia also in the cast.

And we’re delighted to be debuting an exclusive first look clip of the film, which sees the first meeting of Turner and Van Patten’s first character. The film, which comes from the producers of “Short Term 12,” looks to have all the energy and attitude of “Gimme The Loot,” and we can’t wait to see more. The film premieres at TIFF this afternoon: you can watch the clip ahead of that below.
