Earlier today, the lineup was finally announced for the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Once again, Sundance has cemented itself as the premier festival in the U.S. for indie talent. And if we had to award the title of the Ruler of Sundance to someone based just on the announcement, we’d give the crown to none other than Kristen Stewart, who has two high-profile films coming to the event.
First, playing in the U.S. Dramatic Competition, Kristen Stewart is set to star in Sam and Andy Zuchero’s new film “Love Me.” And boy, oh boy, does this have one hell of a premise. Here’s the official synopsis: “Long after humanity’s extinction, a buoy and a satellite meet online and fall in love.” That sounds bonkers and amazing. And to make matters even more intriguing, Stewart is starring opposite Steven Yeun. Bring us this film, ASAP!
Even though “Love Me” sounds really interesting, the most anticipated Stewart joint of 2024 Sundance has to be “Love Lies Bleeding.” This is the new film from “Saint Maud” filmmaker Rose Glass, and if you’ve seen that movie, you know why people are dying to see what the director has next, especially if it stars someone like Stewart. Here’s the synopsis: “Reclusive gym manager Lou falls hard for Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Las Vegas in pursuit of her dream. But their love ignites violence, pulling them deep into the web of Lou’s criminal family.” Stewart stars alongside Katy O’Brian, Ed Harris, Dave Franco, Jena Malone, and Anna Baryshnikov in the film.
So, as you can see, after Sundance 2024 wraps up, we could be talking about two amazing Kristen Stewart projects. Definitely something to get excited about.
