First Look & Teaser: Patrick Warburton In Netflix's 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events' TV Series

Twelve years ago, Hollywood first tried to adapt Lemony Snicket’s (aka Daniel Handler‘s) “A Series Of Unfortunate Events,” his delightfully dark tales about the Baudelaire children, into a movie starring Jim Carrey. It didn’t turn out so well, but now Netflix is going to give it another shot in a TV series format that at least from the first look and teaser, seems to be more in line with the spirit of the books.

Patrick Warburton plays the fictional author and narrator, Lemony Snicket, who will guide audience through the tragic tale of the Baudelaires who come until the guardianship of the evil Count Olaf, who tries to do everything in his power to steal their inheritance. Here’s the official synopsis:

Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) and starring Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death. The eight-episode series is a Netflix original production, executive produced by Emmy Award winner Barry Sonnenfeld and Daniel Handler, and also stars Patrick Warburton (Lemony Snicket), Joan Cusack (Justice Strauss), Malina Weissman (Violet Baudelaire) and Louis Hynes (Klaus Baudelaire).
