The upcoming film “Fuze” sees Scottish filmmaker David Mackenzie reuniting with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson after the two worked together on “The Outlaw King,” but the London-set heist thriller may be taking more of a page from his Taylor Sheridan-penned neo-Western “Hell or High Water” and is coming to theaters next month.
Others among the cast include Theo James (Season 2 of his Netflix gangster series “The Gentlemen” is on the way), “Avatar” franchise star Sam Worthington, Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Loki”), Saffron Hocking (“Hedda”), and Elham Ehsas (“The Kite Runner”). Events surrounding the brazen heist involve the discovery of a WWII-era unexploded munition, leading to the area being evacuated.

An official logline shared with us via Roadside Attractions and Saban Films:
Set in contemporary London, Fuze unfolds after an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site, forcing a massive citywide evacuation. Amid the escalating tension and chaos, a daring criminal operation is set in motion—one that uses the evacuation as cover for a meticulously planned heist. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur, and moral boundaries are crossed, the film deftly propels audiences through a series of calculated twists, delivering a wildly entertaining ride.
Mackenzie was also behind “Relay,” which released domestically last year after a debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. You can read The Playlist’s review for it right here. The bleak sci-fi romance “Perfect Sense” starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green, and the Jack O’Connell-led prison flick “Starred Up” are also part of the filmmaker’s previous credits.
You can view that new trailer for “Fuze” below, as the new flick heads to theaters on April 24. We also reviewed “Fuze” last year during its run at TIFF.
